India's national carrier Air India - which is phasing out Boeing 747-400s and A-310 freighters - also has terminated the service contracts of 30 of the senior commanders who fly them.
More are expected to go.
Air India currently has six Boeing 747-400s and two A-310 cargo carriers and recently leased out two other A-310 freighters to the Delhi-based cargo airline, Aryan Cargo.
