Studio 3 a welcome addition to Melbourne's unique venues

MELBOURNE'S Crown Complex has opened its much-anticipated Studio 3.

Targeting corporate, sporting and charity events, Studio 3 will complement Crown’s existing function facilities including the Palladium at Crown, River Room, Garden Rooms and the conference centre at Crown Promenade Hotel.

The new look facility at Crown is informal with a choice of themes, ‘party zones’ and seating plans.

The space encompasses two levels and a bar area, plus a spacious outdoor deck with sensational views of the Yarra River and city skyline. There is capacity for up to 900 people for a cocktail function, or 400 seated on the main floor and 80 seated on the mezzanine.

“The look is sleek and minimalist with a ‘film studio’ feel, giving a blank canvas that allows every event organiser to create their own event masterpiece, using dramatic light emitting diodes (LED) through steel mesh curtains,” said Walter Wagner, executive general manager Food & Beverage, Crown Limited. Wagner said the concept had already proved popular, with forward bookings for a variety of events throughout 2007. The first major event to get the Studio 3 treatment was the Australian Grand Prix launch on 13 November, with 500 people attending.

“Studio 3 is very competitively priced and offers a range of value-added features, while still delivering the consistently high quality food and beverage, service that Crown is renowned for,” he said.
