CBAFF names its young achiever at ‘Megatrends’ conference

A popular feature at the annual conference of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Federation conference is announcing the CBAFF Young Achiever award.  This year’s young achiever is Phillip Burgess, South Island manager for Burnard International.

Pictured, left to right: Richard White of WiseTech Global, Tania White of co-sponsor Singapore Airlines Cargo, Suzanne Wilson of Leadership Management Australasia, Phillip Burgess and CBAFF president Glenn Coldham

His prize – along with industry accolades and a very pleased employer – was an all-expenses paid trip to Singapore to meet agents and view an airport and seaport in operation, NZD 1500 spending money, a Leadership Management Australasia course, commemorative plaque and complimentary attendance at the 2018 CBAFF conference.

Plus something very significant for his CV – the award has built a solid reputation and holds a lot of status in the NZ freight and logistics sector.

Adela Bright, a customs broker with Go Air Land Sea in Auckland, was runner up, winning two return air flights to Fiji with Fiji Airways.

Both finalists also received complimentary flights, accommodation and attendance at this year’s conference.

Theme for the 2017 conference was ‘Megatrends’.

As usual it attracted a strong turn-out of Australian delegates and speakers.

We’ll have a report on this, including the election of office holders and photos from some of the conference events in our June/July flipbook edition, to be published next week.
