Moscow covered - TEK joins 1GSA

1GSA - a new network for independent cargo GSSAs - has appointed Moscow-based TEK Poseidon as its member for Russia.

1GSA now has members in 12 countries, and pending applications for several more.

TEK Poseidon, founded in 2002  is a group of businesses spanning diverse activities such as forwarding, road transport, express, warehousing, liner agency and ocean consolidation. It has bases in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Riga, Klaipeda, Helsinki, Minsk and Hamburg; a further office is planned in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

The TEK Poseidon air cargo GSSA operation is the group's newest activity and is managed by Sergey Bryukhovetskiy.

Alexander Tysyachnikov, chairman TEK Poseidon said: "Imports and exports between Russia and overseas markets are well-balanced, with particularly good demand on routes to and from Central Asia, the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. However, during the economic crisis in Russia, a number of carriers left the market, and this now provides some challenges in achieving direct connections with overseas markets; sometimes, two trans-shipments are required."
