The UK's airport group MAG - which operates Manchester, Stansted and East Midlands airports - wants the government to make freight a central part of its new aviation strategy and has called for improved road and rail connections to its facilities.

"The government should support East Midlands Airport, the UK’s most important hub for dedicated airfreight operations, through more investment in road and rail infrastructure around the airport," MAG said.
