Logistics and asset monitoring company RoamBee says its new monitoring technology 'BeeBeacon' delivers consignment visibility down to the package-level as well as end-to-end asset management.

The transmitter combines bluetooth/wifi and global system for mobile (GSM) hotspots and beacons and can be attached to individual packages and assets.

 

It has two initial models. One monitors location (movement history, idle time, geo visibility and ETA) plus light exposure (for signs of tampering). The second tracks location, temperature and humidity deviations (to monitor spoilage). 

 

The on-demand service can be offered for as little as US$1 per month, RoamBee’s ceo Sanjay Sharma says.
