E-commerce focus helps Deutsche Post's Q3 results

Germany's Deutsche Post DHL Group (DP-DHL) has reported positive results for Q3 2017, with total revenue up 5.6 per cent over the same period last year, to EUR14.6 billion.
Frank Appel, group chief executive said: “All divisions of our company registered growth thanks to our strategic focus on rapidly-expanding sectors such as international e-commerce."
 
The e-commerce–parcel division achieved a revenue rise of 6.9 per cent to EUR4.3 billion, while the forwarding arm saw an eight per cent improvement in quarterly air cargo volumes to 982,000 tonnes versus 2016.
 
Airfreight gross profit fell 3.2 per cent to EUR213 million.
 
Growth in international time-definite deliveries took Express revenues 8.5 per cent higher at EUR3.6 billion.
