Flair to eliminate carry-on luggage fee

Canada's Flair Airlines is eliminating carry-on luggage charges, citing consumer demand and effective immediately has removed its C$30 carry-on baggage fee.
Spokeswoman Julie Rempel said Flair would "redefine" the ultra low cost carrier ancillary fee model in Canada. 
 
Meanwhile, ancillary fees are generating increasing revenues for airlines around the world.
 
They are expected to total US$82.2 billion this year, compared to US$22.6 billion in 2010, according to IdeaWorksCompany, a US research company that tracks airline revenue.
