ABC keeps striding ahead

Russia's AirBridgeCargo (ABC) say it registered a 13 per cent improvement in airfreight demand last year thanks to e-commerce, pharma and offsize/heavy freight volumes.
In total, the airline carried more than 700,000 tonnes, while freight tonne kilometres were 10 per cent higher and load factor increased by four per cent to 71  per cent.

ABC general director Sergey Lazarev said: “In 2017 we concentrated our efforts on the development of special cargo transportation, fine-tuning our internal procedures and processes, aligning our organisational structure and improving digitalisation, steps that boosted our volumes of special commodities.

"Temperature pharma was up 150 per cent, followed by off-size & heavy up 33 per cent and e-commerce was up 26 per cent.

For the future, the airline will "continue to invest in its special cargo and digital solutions".
