USA-based United Parcel Service has ordered 14 747-8 Boeing freighters as air freight markets respond to higher consumer confidence.

Keeping the 747 delivery line going is a big plus for Boeing, particularly as the new UPS 747-8s are for growth and not to replace older planes being retired at UPS.

UPS said its US$6.2 billion total order also includes four 767s.
