Japan’s SoftBank Group has followed its investment in ride-share firm Uber with a US$1 billion bid for shares in Chinese truck-hailing company Manbang Group, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Manbang reportedly wants to raise between US$500 million and $1 billion to help it expand in China’s growing logistics market.
