Schenker goes vertical to suit air, sea market segments

SCHENKER has launched a range of new services for Trans Tasman importers and exporters.

The company says SchenkerTasman now contributes to the current strengths of the newly combined organisation -—Schenker and BAX  — by entering into a differentiated product category to offer customers “the whole scope of solutions for integrated logistics services”.

For air logistics solutions between Australia and New Zealand, Schenkersky offers customers: Business class — short transit times for time-critical products — and Economy class — longer transit times where price-driven logistical solutions are required.

For sea freight, it’s claimed SchenkerOcean provides: Increased frequency of Freight All Kind (FAK) and Full Container Load (FCL) products between Australian and New Zealand ports, and improved door-to-door transit times of FAK/FCL containers and increased frequency of sailing between the two countries.

“Our new services will benefit our importers and exporters on both sides of the Tasman,” said Ron Koehler, managing director of Schenker Australia and New Zealand. “Our new SchenkerTasman service offers our customers a range of more efficient and reliable logistics solutions that translates into better supply chain management for them and their partners. Our dedicated logistics operations on both sides of the Tasman include pick and pack operations, online warehouse management systems, and last mile integrated tracking services backed up by the latest technology of our transport management system.”

Schenker and BAX Global are in the process of integrating around the world.
