SIN Customs revamps web

AS with most Customs services these days, Singapore Customs has long maintained a regularly-updated website which is of value to forwarders, shippers and other users.  The site has recently undergone a major make-over to blows away some of the bureaucratic cobwebs that previously characterised the site.

Chew Lai Leng, head of corporate communications for Singapore Customs, said the new website marked the organisation’s “commitment to provide a seamless e-business environment to position Singapore as a globally connected and trusted trading hub”.

She explained that new user-friendly features included improved information search facilities, an easy-to-use currency converter and a quick-link support system which allows allowed cross-referencing to selected pages.
All existing e-services are maintained, she said.

The website brings together “all information relating to Customs’ import and export matters, certificates of origin procedures, and also provides a direct link to the TradeXchange website where information on TradeNet can be found,” Chew noted.

“The new Singapore Customs website is one-stop portal for all Customs and trade-related exchanges.”
