Couple found guilty of fraud

A couple have been found guilty by a US federal jury in Denver for a scheme that defrauded Florida, USA-based National Air Cargo of US$5 million.

Michael Aaron Tew and Kimberly Ann Tew took the logistics company's money over two years by submitting false invoices for services and items that were never provided, according to the Department of Justice (DoJ).

They used the money to gamble, as well as spent US$2.4 million buying Bitcoin.

National Air Cargo offers domestic and international airfreight capacity as well as air charter options.

It has hubs in New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Chicago, Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Madrid, Dubai, Djibouti, Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.
Sentencing will be held at a later date.
