FarCargo starts salmon delivery run

Faroe Islands-based carrier FarCargo has launched its first transatlantic air cargo route for salmon shipments, with its Boeing 757-200 converted freighter operated by Swedish airline West Atlantic until FarCargo is able to obtain an operator's certificate (AOC).

The planned outbound route will be Billund–Faroe Islands–Newark (with a fuel stop in Keflavik) and inbound Newark–Billund.

FarCargo is a subsidiary of salmon farming business Bakkafrost and its jet initially will operate two rotations per week, increasing to five times per week later in the year.
