Astral targets cargo title

Africa's Kenya-based airline Astral Aviation says it wants to become the leading cargo carrier in East and Central Africa.

Started as a charter airline, Astral now offers seven scheduled flights with 40 charter destinations in Africa and was winner of the African All Cargo Carrier 2011 award.

In 2010, the airline carried about 6,800 tonnes of cargo, up 20 per cent on 2009.
