The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has revised downward its airline profits forecast for the 2011 year. Net profit for the industry will be US$8.6 billion assuming oil prices do not settle at even-higher levels than they are now. IATA previously had forecast industry-wide 2011 earnings of US$9.1 billion.
