PIA md stands down, Turkish deal cancelled

Pakistan International Airlines' managing director has resigned to help end a four-day strike that was crippling the airline.

Aijaz Haroon's departure was one demand by staff, who also want the cancellation of management plans to code-share European and US routes to Turkish Airlines.

"We have accepted PIA employees' demands, including the memorandum of understanding signed with a foreign airline to be declared null and void," said a government spokesman.
