Airlines review ex-UK premium economy

A number of airlines flying from the UK say they may scrap 'premium economy' products if the government fails to overhaul the country's Air Passenger Duty (APD).

Under APD, premium economy, business and first class passengers pay a higher rate of tax, although a full premium-class ticket (business and first class) entitles the passenger to more space as well as better food and free alcohol.

The UK government has said it is ready to review APD bands and will publish proposals for reform in March.
