The news late 2010 that additional USA airports intended to use private security screeners has prompted the USA's Transportation Security Administration to block expansion plans.

TSA chief John Pistole has decided the Screening Partnership Program will not be expanded beyond the current 16 airports, saying he does not see any advantage to it.

The Program had allowed airports to use their own contracted screeners.
