Cathay, Cargolux appeal EU cartel fines

Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific and Luxembourg-based Cargolux have filed appeals against their European Commission air cargo cartel fines.

Cathay had been asked for EUR57.1 million and Cargolux EUR79.9 million.

Cargolux said: "After careful consideration, the company has decided to file an appeal against the decision of the European Commission. At this stage, Cargolux does not wish to make any further comments on this pending case."

In total, a bloc of 11 eleven airlines were fined.
