Russia 'had advanced warning of bomb threat'

European media Wednesday claimed Russian authorities knew weeks ago they faced an airport bomb threat and the UK's Daily Telegraph reported that the attack "could have happened at almost any airport anywhere".

One UK security expert speaking on the UK's BBC news said Russian airports were no more at risk than any other airport and that bomb threats at all transport hubs and stations was a well-recognised problem.

Elsewhere, Richard Bloom of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University security, said: "Why more of what happened in Moscow hasn't happened before is a good question. It shows how easy it is, particularly if you have a suicide bomber.''
