An investigation is to be held into Scotland, Edinburgh airport's seeming inability to handle snow and ice after the eighth complete airport closure in six weeks.

City councillors have asked operator BAA to 'please explain' after dozens of flights were cancelled or delayed at the weekend as snow swept the country.

Councillors say the city's reputation is being damaged by the repeated disruption.

The airport was closed for 10 hours on Saturday.
