Virgin inks Skywest deal

Australia's Virgin Blue Group and Skywest Airlines of Western Australia have signed a strategic alliance that will see Skywest operate a fleet of as many as 18 new Virgin-branded turbo prop aircraft.

The 10-year agreement will see the planes operate on new and existing routes around the country.

"The combined strength of our networks, along with the additional capacity we will deliver with new aircraft, will provide travellers with more frequent flights, better schedules and competitive fares," said Virgin ceo and managing director John Borghetti.
