Cargo, passengers up at LAN

Latin American carrier LAN Airlines - and its subsidiaries - have reported preliminary monthly traffic statistics for November 2010 including passenger traffic up 11.2 per cent.

Cargo traffic increased 9.6 per cent, mainly attributed to growth in import markets, particularly Brazil - and the increase in operations to Europe with the B777 freighter fleet.

In June 2010 LAN Cargo introduced domestic cargo operations in Brazil to Recife and Fortaleza through its affiliate ABSA.
