Qantas Freight adjusts fuel surcharges

From December 16, the fuel surcharge on some Qantas Freight-marketed Qantas and Jetstar services ex Australia will be reduced.

This follows recent changes to the aviation fuel price.

The adjusted fuel surcharge on QF and JQ services will be:
* TC1/2: reduced by A$0.04 to A$0.66 per kilogram;
* TC3:   No change at A$0.30 per kilogram.

The adjusted fuel surcharge for all shipments lodged and rated as a built up unit ready for carriage will be:
TC1/2
* Type 2/5 - A$1055 per unit;
* Type 6    - A$725 per unit;
* Type 8    - A$460 per unit.

TC3
* Type 2/5 - A$480 per unit;
* Type 6    - A$330 per unit;
* Type 8    - A$210 per unit.

Qantas Freight says that in conjunction with the changes, its sales offices will issue new market rate tariffs to be effective on December 16.
* The effective date is based on ‘Executed Date’ of AWB;
* All surcharges are calculated according to the chargeable weight;
* The fuel surcharge will be non-commissionable;
* The fuel surcharge will be applicable to all shipments under General and Express GWB;
* The amount must be shown on the AWB under ‘Other Charges, Due Carrier’ with code MYC.

The carrier says it will continue to monitor the price of fuel and relevant market conditions and adjust its fuel surcharge accordingly.
