Homeland Security to review cargo practices

The USA's Senate Homeland Security committee is to host an airline cargo safety review next week in response to the failed Yemen-based terror plot that involved hiding explosives in airborne packages.

Transportation Security Administration chief John Pistole and Customs and Border Protection commissioner Alan Bersin will testify before the panel.

The hearing will "examine what actions are being taken to improve air cargo security in light of the Yemen parcel bomb plot uncovered in October and whether additional measures might be needed".
