Flights from nearly 50 routes from Bangladesh, India, Iran, the Maldives, Pakistan, Qatar, Sudan and Thailand to British airports are affected.
Meanwhile, in the USA, some packages will undergo additional screening and larger toner and ink cartridges will be prohibited altogether from passenger flights. Homeland Security also will require certain packages being loaded onto freighters get "additional and enhanced screening" before a plane can take off if flying to the United States.
