Branson calls on bank to assess Virgin

Sir Richard Branson has brought in Deutsche Bank to help him reassess strategic options for UK carrier Virgin Atlantic.

The Virgin Group founder owns 51 per cent of the airline and has asked the German bank to report on Virgin's market position in the wake of British Airways' transatlantic tie-up with American Airlines.

Singapore Airlines owns the remaining 49 per cent of Virgin.
