SpiceJet buys 15 bombardiers

Indian airline SpiceJet is to buy up to 30 Bombardier turboprops for US$900 million.

Ceo Neil Mills said: "We are in the process of obtaining the necessary regulatory approvals (for the purchase)."

The no-frills airline will use the Q40 planes to add up to 90 smaller destinations not currently served by a low-cost carrier to its network. The order is for 15 planes and 15 options.
