McArdle re-elected as AAA chair

John McArdle has been re-elected unopposed as chairman of the Australian Airports Association (AAA).

McArdle, who is general manager corporate affairs for Adelaide Airport, has held the position for the past eight years.

Following his re-election, McArdle said: “There are many challenges that still lie ahead for airports around Australia, for example the constantly changing security environment.

"Some of the issues AAA will continue to raise with the government and regulatory bodies include increasing aviation training requirements and the massive costs required to meet growing regulatory demands.

“We also are asking the government to address the inequitable share of infrastructure funding handed out for roads, rail and ports compared with the nation’s airports.”
