Euro two prepare for cartel fine

The UK's British Airways and Europe's Air France-KLM are among airlines expecting to be fined by EU antitrust regulators next month.

The European Commission charged a number of carriers in December 2007, alleging they took part in an air freight cartel.

The EU watchdog did not name them, but British Airways, Lufthansa, SAS, Air France-KLM, Japan Airlines, Cathay Pacific, All Nippon Airways, Air Canada and Alitalia all confirmed they had been investigated.

"A Commission decision is expected on November 9," said an un-named source with knowledge of the matter.
