TMA back in the air

Trans Mediterranean Airlines (TMA), Lebanon's only air cargo carrier, has officially re-launched operations and pledged more flights to Europe and UAE.

The airline previously suffered massive financial losses and ceased operations.

Established in 1953, TMA was the first cargo airline in Lebanon and the Middle East.

It was grounded in mid-2005 after Middle East Airlines (MEA) started to carry cargo in its new fleet of Airbuses, prompting TMA's management to suspend all operations.

TMA now will make two weekly flights to Europe and one to the UAE and management hopes to increase the flights to Europe to four times a week.
