Pilot risks employment

A Houston, USA-based pilot for ExpressJet has decided to risk his job rather than submit to security checks on his way to work.

He already has refused full-body scanners and pat-down checks.

Michael Roberts said: "They wanted me to take off my shoes to go through the scanner, and I told them I didn't want to go through the scanner."

After also refusing the alternative - a pat down - he wasn't allowed to go to work.

TSA rules say air crew members are not exempt from security checks.
