Singapore Airlines says September 2010 passenger capacity measured in available seat kilometres increased 1.3 per cent year-on-year against a 0.6  per cent increase in system-wide passenger carriage in revenue passenger kilometres.

As a result, passenger load factor declined by 0.6 percentage point to 80.3 per cent and the number of passengers carried decreased by 1.1 per cent to 1.3 million.

All regions except Europe and West Asia and Africa recorded improved loads compared to the same month last year.

Overall cargo traffic measured in freight tonne kilometres (FTKs) improved by 9.2 per cent while cargo capacity increased by 8.6 per cent. This led to a marginal improvement in cargo load factor by 0.3 percentage points. Loads improved for all route regions except East Asia and Europe.
