USA-based American Airlines is moving to contest the temperature-controlled pharmaceuticals market as it tries to rebuild air cargo revenues.

The carrier says many of its customers moved to sea freight during the financial crisis and have not switched back.

The cool room effort has been under way for about a year, but the company says it is now "more-aggressively attacking the market".
