Ear scanners next for airport security?

Researchers at the University of Southampton in the UK are developing an ear scan after discovering each person's ears have a unique shape.

The technique uses technology that highlights and measures the tubular structures of the ear.

With 99 per cent accuracy, the scans can then be compared with a database of ear shapes to identify whose they are.
