A 'loose' bag refund rule on its way

The US Department of Transportation (DoT) has ruled that by next year, airlines must offer refunds of bag fees if those bags are lost or delayed.

Only a few US airlines already offer automatic refunds if a bag is lost or delayed.

Most major airlines will only consider a refund after the passenger files a claim.

The DoT says it won't set rules on what constitutes a late delivery, leaving that up to airlines and their customers.
