China Cargo launches Singapore services

A new all-cargo carrier, Shanghai-based China Cargo Airlines, has started services to Singapore's Changi Airport.

A joint venture between China Eastern Airlines and China Ocean Shipping, the airline will be the third new freighter service at Changi this year, after Malaysia's Transmile Air and Indonesia's Tri-MG Airlines, the airport says.

The new carrier will operate 12 weekly flights on Boeing 777-200F and MD-11F aircraft linking Singapore with Bangkok and Shanghai.

There now are 16 freight carriers operating at Changi.
