Geneva joins e-Freight network

Geneva Airport has become the second location in Switzerland to become IATA e-freight capable.

Almost 18 months after Zurich, the introduction of the e-freight operational process involved key players in the industry led by Swiss WorldCargo.

All parties involved in the local logistics chain are now able to exchange their consignment details online.

“This significant step in improving data quality and efficiency, will further strengthen the leading role of Switzerland as a hub for urgent, sensitive and high value cargo,” said Oliver Evans, chief cargo officer, Swiss International Air Lines.

The implementation of e-freight at the Basle-Mulhouse Airport is planned for the end of this year.
