Fedex to shed trucking assets

FedEx recently downplayed the outlook for coming quarters despite strong international results.
The company now says it will merge its FedEx Freight and FedEx National less-than-carload trucking units and in the process, close 100 terminals and cut 1,700 jobs.
It says these and other measures will make its trucking business profitable next year.
