Spain's Iberia says it backs UK carrier British Airways' plan to tackle the UK carrier's pension deficit and that the planned merger of the two airlines can go ahead. "Having reviewed British Airways' pension recovery plan, Iberia's board of directors has confirmed that it will not exercise its right to terminate the merger agreement between the two airlines," an Iberia statement said. Shareholder decisions are expected in November.
