AirAsia X targets Australia, China and Japan

Malaysian long-haul budget airline AirAsia X says it intends to introduce new routes to Australia and China and will enter the Japanese market in December by launching regular flights between Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo.

The carrier will fly to Tokyo Haneda three times a week.

AirAsia X's chief executive officer Azran Osman-Rani said: "Other airport in Japan? We remain very interested."

Azran also said he plans to introduce new routes to Australia and China, as well as new destinations in the Middle East and Europe.
