Aer Lingus looks (again) at alliance membership

Irish carrier Aer Lingus says it is considering joining an airline alliance.

"The issue is on our agenda," ceo Christoph Mueller said, adding that he also is considering expansion through either buying another airline or finding a strategic investor to make Aer Lingus part of a bigger group.

The airline left the oneworld alliance in April 2007 as it pursued strategies to better its position as a budget carrier.
