BA sends B777 to India

UK carrier British Airways (BA) has scheduled its first new B777-300ER on the India run.

BA expects to have six B777-300ERs operating by 2012.

"Our introduction of the B777-300ER is British Airways at its innovative best," BA chief executive Willie Walsh said.

"This is the first aircraft to be fitted with our new World Traveller and World Traveller Plus cabins and a new in-flight entertainment system that offers over 700 hours of movies, TV and music options on demand.

"It is also the greenest in our long-haul fleet, generating 15 per cent less CO2 emissions per seat than the Boeing 777-200."
