Delta to cut Comair size

USA carrier Delta Air Lines says it intends to cut the size of wholly-owned subsidiary Comair by 50 per cent over the next two years.

The carrier already has sold its Mesaba and Compass airlines.

By 2012, it plans to reduce the Comair 87-aircraft fleet to 44.

Roughly half Comair's 2,500 workers are expected to go.
