Cobham adds two to fleet

Cobham Aviation Services Australia has leased two more jets from BAE Systems.

The first, a BAe 146-300QT 11.5 tonne freighter, is expected to be deployed on some Fly-in-Fly-out (FIFO) services that Cobham provides - principally in Western and Southern Australia - as well as on scheduled overnight air freight services on the eastern seaboard.

Cobham also has signed a lease for a third Avro RJ100 passenger aircraft, also to provide FIFO services. This aircraft will be delivered this month for entry into service later this year.

In addition, Cobham has confirmed that the second RJ100 it has leased and which was originally scheduled for delivery in 2011 for deployment on FIFO contracts, will now be delivered later this year in response to rising demand.
