UK carrier British airways now is in the final phase of its GBP5 billion tie up with Spain's Iberia after formally signing merger documents to create the world's third-biggest airline.

Iberia still has until September 30 to exit the deal if it is unhappy with BA's recently-announced plan to resolve its pension deficit.
