ANA Group to merge subsidiaries

Japanese airline All Nippon Airways has confirmed three subsidiaries - Air Nippon Network Co (AKX), Air Next (NXA) and Air Central (CRF)  - will merge.

The three companies, all of which operate Bombardier DHC-8 and B 737 aircraft, will merge in order to streamline their operations and respond more flexibly to a changing airline industry and help the ANA Group as a whole build a more adaptive operating structure.

The merger will take place 01 October, 2010 subject to the approval of relevant government agencies.

This will be an acquisition and merger, with AKX the surviving company. NXA and CRF will be dissolved. Plans also call for AKX to change its name to ANA
Wings co at the time of the merger.
