Lufthansa pleased with group results

Germany's Lufthansa says business developed strongly in recent months and all its subsidiary carriers - including Swiss, Austrian and British Midland - met or exceeded budget expectations.

"If this continues in the coming months, we can be confident we will fulfil our expectations," management board member Stefan Lauer said.

"We are seeing load factors in our continental traffic (Europe) from Frankfurt like we have never seen before," Lauer said. Intercontinental traffic also was going well, he added.
